Scott Bradford Doleman “Onward and Upward” Memorial Scholarship

Scott Bradford-Doleman ’95 passed away on December 21, 2023. Born on October 2, 1972, in Ranson, West Virginia, Scott’s life journey was characterized by a deep commitment to family, community, and service.

A founding member and first president of SUAC, Scott was a guiding force in expanding athletic fundraising for all sports at Shepherd. He was inducted into Shepherd’s Hall of Fame in 2000 for his outstanding career as a three-sport athlete: football, baseball, and a member of the 1992 WVIAC Championship men’s basketball team. In addition to his leadership with athletics, Scott served on the Alumni Association Board from 2000-2015 (where he held the office of president) and as a member of the Shepherd University Foundation Board from 2009-2012.

In his distinguished 19-year career with FedEx Freight, Scott rose to the position of Regional Vice President of Operations – Northwest, based in Phoenix, Arizona. His ascent through the ranks showcased his exceptional leadership skills.

In an effort to honor those achievements, the SUAC and FedEx have created the Scott Bradford Doleman “Onward and Upward” Memorial Scholarship. This annually funded award will be given out to one male and one female student athlete who demonstrate strong leadership and a commitment to serve the Shepherd community.
