OUR FOCUS FOR 2023 IS SCHOLARSHIPS, SCHOLARSHIPS AND MORE SCHOLARSHIPS!!!!!
Greetings to all members and Fans,
2023 is a critical year in Ram Gridiron Club funding for SHEPHERD FOOTBALL.
Although we have been successful in recent years thanks to your generous contributions, we realize our team must be fully funded in scholarship dollars to compete at the national final and semi-final championship level! The Mid-West powerhouse teams (ie…Ferris State and Grand Valley) are fully funded in scholarships. In order to reach those elite standards, we must raise $100,000.00 annually in Gridiron Club dollars.
The NCAA “Transfer Portal” has taken competitive recruiting to a new level. Coach McCook needs the flexibility to have immediate access and the versatility to tap into our scholarship dollars.
The time has come, once again, for the Ram Gridiron Club membership, and the Ram fan base to make this a priority and support SHEPHERD FOOTBALL!

Coach Walter Barr Memorial Gifts Initiative
The Shepherd University Ram Football Gridiron Club is sponsoring scholarship awards in memory of Coach Walter A. Barr ’62. Coach Barr served as head coach of the Shepherd football team for 15 seasons following a student-athlete career as quarterback. His accomplishments were numerous: three conference championships, coach of the year awards, inducted into the NAIA and Shepherd Halls of Fame, and one of the most winning coaches in Shepherd history. The plaza outside Ram Stadium was named in his honor in 2013. These awards will help further his legacy through vital scholarship support.
