SHEPHERD ATHLETICS ARE IN A CRTICAL BUDGET SHORTFALL
The Shepherd University Football Program has a rich tradition of excellence. We are committed to providing our student-athletes with the resources they need to succeed academically, athletically, and personally. However, with the rising costs of equipment, travel, facilities maintenance, and academic support services, our ability to fulfill this mission is increasingly challenged.
Your contribution will directly benefit the Shepherd University Football Program by:
- Enhancing Academic Support: Funding academic tutors and advisors to ensure our players graduate at high rates.
- Upgrading Equipment and Facilities: Providing our student-athletes with the latest equipment and training facilities to compete at the highest level.
- Enhancing Strength & Conditioning Programs: Funding resources to improve strength training and injury prevention programs.
- Augmenting Travel Expenses: Assisting with travel costs for away games and recruiting efforts.

Coach Walter Barr Memorial Gifts Initiative
The Shepherd University Ram Football Gridiron Club is sponsoring scholarship awards in memory of Coach Walter A. Barr ’62. Coach Barr served as head coach of the Shepherd football team for 15 seasons following a student-athlete career as quarterback. His accomplishments were numerous: three conference championships, coach of the year awards, inducted into the NAIA and Shepherd Halls of Fame, and one of the most winning coaches in Shepherd history. The plaza outside Ram Stadium was named in his honor in 2013. These awards will help further his legacy through vital scholarship support.
