Field Turf Replacement Campaign

The Shepherd University Athletic Department has officially launched a campaign to raise $500,000 to replace the existing field turf in Ram Stadium.

Over the past ten years the current field turf has provided the Rams with many successes including WVIAC and MEC conference championships, super regional championships as well as a trip to the National Championship game in 2015.

Shepherd University is committed to transforming the overall student-athlete experience and in order to remain the elite program among the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and nationally, this investment is essential and we are asking for financial support from our alumni and friends who believe in Shepherd University Athletics.

The University hopes to meet its fundraising goal and have the new playing surface ready for the 2019-20 season. Private and corporate funds will be the driving force for the completion of the project. The field will be used for athletic contests, practices, summer camps, and university events.

Installation needs to be scheduled by early February 2019, and construction is scheduled to begin in early May 2019. The project should be completed in six to eight weeks.

“Ram Stadium has seen some glory days over the last ten years on the existing turf and we are ready to move forward and provide our student athletes and coaches with the newest technology in artificial field turf. We are very excited for this new project to take shape and provide our alumni, friends and community with a state of the art, one of a kind game experience when you visit Ram Stadium (Chauncey Winbush, Vice President for Athletics)”.

We all share tremendous pride in the incredible success achieved by the Shepherd Ram football program. The installation of new field turf will allow our student-athletes who compete in football and other field sports to safely practice on a first quality playing surface and fully utilize the outstanding field house facility. We are grateful for your support of Shepherd University and thankful that you are willing to be leaders in this fundraising effort.
